Only guarantee after this week is that Overbays will be in 6th. It would be nice to get together for this. The 12th was discussed last night, but I can't make that date...

Says who?!

You.

It was unanimous that I'd finish higher than you in everyones predictions(including yours), I think that qualifies as an upset.

Game 1:  Someone Give Verlander the Cy Young ...Porcello gives up 2 in the first inning and it doesn't get any better from there as the 208s score in bunches, including a 5 run 5th to win 12-5. MB's are shocked in awe as 208s hit 4hr (all auto/splits) in cavernous AT&T.
SP. Porcello vs Stroman

Game 2: Game 2 pits Carrassco against Bauer. Mbs get out to the early 1-0 lead in the 1st, however in the 3rd Bauer gets hit by a drone and the 208s Manager rolls a 19!(You're welcome Ricky) however somehow the pitching change hurts the Mbs more and the 208s mishmash bullpenn throws 6 scoreless innings while adding a 2 run 4th to take the game 2-1.
SP. Carrassco vs Bauer

Game 3: The Mbs are overcome with feelings of doom and gloom. with the 208s feeling confident in the 3rd matchup, MBs show some pride! MBs take an early lead by scoring 1 in the 2nd 4 in the 3rd and 4 in the 4th before allowing the bullpenn to coast to a 9-4 victory.
SP. Roark vs Maeda

Game 4: The Mbs have a great SP matchup as Fernandez takes on Velasquez.  Or so it was thought, 208s go on to win 9-4 while hitting 0 Hrs and pummell fernandezs card for singles and doubles.
SP. Fernandez vs Velasquez

Game 5: Goes to show how silly this game is, MBs assume they will take a loss with Manaea taking on a powerful 208s offense. Manaea throws 5 innings of 1 run ball and lets the pen take over to lead the MBs to a 3-2 victory.
SP. Manaea vs Ross

Most Valuable Loser (MVL) goes to Brandon phillips whos 2 played like a 4, runner up to Daniel Murphy who went 5/20 with more Ks and Double plays than hits.

*Bauer misses his next start

Hendricks, Devenski, Cueto, Hill, Gray

Game 2 Sanchez had 3-2 lead before handing the Ball over to the Bullpen in the 7th where they managed to give up 6 to lose 8-4.
Game 3 Sluggers conditioning coach is fired...... Kang is now injuried B+2
Sale pitches CG loss 6-4
Game 4 Hill was too much for the sluggers 2-0 loss. Lindor was injured for balance of game .
Game 5 Sluggers Bullpen at it again giving up 2 in the 6th and 2 in the 8th for 5-2 loss.

No injuries carried over to next series

Avolanche get buried

I'll do a game-by-game write-up when I get home from vacation, but suffice to say that the reigning champs started the 2017 season with a bit of a hiccup, losing 3-2 to the consensus worst team in the league, WIB.

The series was off to a good start for the Avolanche when, two batters in, WIB ace Strasburg left for the game (and the next series). However, against a completely lacklustre bullpen, the champs just couldn't mount any offence at all and were even worse on defense. MVP candidate Corey Seager's performance was a microcosm of the series with anemic hitting backed up by allowing 8/9 x-chart opportunities for hits, rolling four or less each of those times. WIB managed to capitalize on many of those chances by following with a shot into the cheap seats. The horrendous WIB bullpen kept the Avolanche lineup in check and the whitey from Brampton beat back-to-back LHPs to win the series 3-2.

Game 1- Arrieta loses to the WIB bullpen after Strasburg only throws two innings. WIB has a a historically bad bullpen, but the Avolanche seem to hate runs. WIB 7-5

Game 2- Last year's first overall draft choice, Noah Syndergaard, stepped up to face Junior Guerra in the second game. Thor's pitched with the enthusiasm of a guy getting ready to golf during the playoffs this year, but allowing runs to the Avolanche in each inning from the 3rd to the 9th. Hard to win that way. Avolanche 10-3

Game 3- Chris Archer and Masahiro Tanaka kicked off the tightest game of the series which went into extras, and was eventually won by the Avolanche in the 11th, saving what could have led to an ugly moment of seppuku in the Alec's driveway. Avolanche 7-6

Game 4- Is this 2010? You'd have been forgiven for thinking that because looked like vintage Felix Hernandez against one of those sad Avolanche rebuilds, but it's actually 2017. That's the year that the powerhouse Avolanche flailed pathetically at Felix's high 80's fastball and went down meekly, while WIB's terrible lineup vs. LHP managed to put up more than enough runs against Happ to take the win. WIB 5-1

Game 5- Another LHP in David Price, another comically weak lineup from WIB and a flood of runs would follow. Against WIB stud Kevin Gausman, that was always going to be a recipe for success.  WIB hitters kept the runs coming throughout the game and when Blake Snell and Ken Giles come into the game, you know your goose is cooked, as they slammed the door shut. WIB 8-2

Other than George's pride, Strasburg was the only injury to carry over. Corey Seager may never be seen again. I'm pretty sure he's on...vacation, yeah, vacation. Forget you ever heard that name.

Catalyst vs the JYD
Game 1
duffy vs martinez
Jyd starts of the game scoring a run on a rbi double from Nelson Cruz in the top of the first.
Catalyst bottom of the first get a lead of walk for dj limahieu followed by a Home run from Charlie Blackmon
The score would be stayed tied at 2 after 5 innings. The Catalyst bullpen fell apart with addison reed giving up 2 runs and melancon giving up 1. The score was 5-2 in the bottom of the ninth and they Jyd's taking no chances went to andrew miller to close things out. Chris Carpenter would strike out, followed by a wise pinch hit substitution Niel Walker for Carlos Gonzales. Walker would hit a solo home run, but no more offence could be put together. Jyd take game one 5-3
game 2
Bumgarner vs Pomeranz
Blackmon hits another home run and the catalyst win 6-2

game 3
Fulmer vs Kershaw
A great pitching duel here the score tied at 0-0 going into the bottom of the 7th. They JYD strike first with runs scored by Arrenado and Alutve. JYD still have the lead top of nine and make all the defensive replacement and go to their man Andrew Miller. Charlie Blackmon leads off with and his plunked by miller, but he shakes it of and stays in the game. Niel walker comes in again to pinch hit vs Miller hopping to get a hold of one again, but instead hits a routine grounder to segura who bobbles the ball and has no play at first or 2nd all runners safe.Long time Catalyst player Matt Carpenter next to bat and he destroys a high fastball, taking it to the right field stands Catalyst take the lead 3-2. Kershaw Tells the manager he wants to finish this one and Catalyst manager showed confidence in his starter giving him a chance to close it out. Kershaw get 3 straight outs to end the game. Catalyst win 3-2.

Game 4
Salazar vs Cluber
Cluber gets killed for 12 runs JYD's win the game 12-3

game 5
Tailon vs Scherzer
Nothing happening here for JYD Catalyst win 6-2
Catalyst take the series 3-2 and look to keep the wins coming vs the 208's on march 18th
No injuries to carry over.
