I agree that it is in the rules, but what I don't understand is why. Is there some history that I don't know about that led to the rule?

George can tell me if im right, I think it is so you dont say to Ricky Ill give you a 2nd for Molina he changes his 15 and then ships him to you for a pick.

I wouldn't really care if that happened. As far as I'm concerned, he's still yours. If we are trying to combat something like that, maybe protected lists should be blind and just sent to the commissioner.

No worries

I forgot to list him in my 15 protected but I do like the players that I have currently in KY 15. It's my mistake I'm fine with it. I have seen many times a player cut on a team and another team drafting that player in the 2nd round. I wil be fine.

Agreed. I think you should be able to edit your 15 man until the deadline. I personally posted mine early because I don't want to forget and have Jeff threaten to arrest me for child porn and kick me out of the league. And sometimes it can be a bit confusing, I could have left Yelich off my 15 because he's still under Rob's team.

Its detrimental to me if Rickey gets Molina back (if he wants him) but I think its fair.

Just my two cents

The rule used to be that we email them to the commish by the deadline. If we don't, HE gets to pick our 15!! One year my email got lost in cyberspace and George picked my 15 for me. Needless to say his 15 picks weren't the same as my 15 picks, and I was pissed. I was eventually able to prove I sent it on time, then we changed it to posting on here (and got rid of the commish picking your team crap).

Whoever mentioned above about "once posted everyone else is a free agent" type thing is correct. Guys would see who was cut, and in this case would be offering Ricky picks for Molina. This is probably a "tugger" rule.

Ricky is sugar coating it on here, but he screwed up and I know that. I'd give him a break, but whateves.

Kudos to Ricky for manning up, but we have rules for a reason.
Where do we draw the line on which ones should be enforced???

Lets face it.  Its Molina we're talking about here.  He's not going to make the difference between Ricky contending or not..
Let it be a lesson to everyone.  Triple check before posting your list.  I know I did

Lesson learned for everyone.

This is my take on it too, I feel bad and personally If it were voted on I'd go with the rest of you and just let him fix it. However the fact that there is a rule in writing already makes it more difficult based on setting a precedent.  Do we just vote everytime, how is it determined when to enforce other rules?

Im fine with whatever is decided.

What if we instituted a rule that if you do make a mistake, and want to undo your mistake its going to cost you your first pick in the draft? Thats a pretty damn strong punishment, but gives the guy the option.

If I accidentally left Trout off, i would probably quit strat.

I think we should put this to a vote. Ricky manned up, but i don't want any excuses when i win next year ;)

I agree we should put this to a vote Andrew..... at the fire in the FALL , when we discuss rule changes.   Sorry boys it's not rocket science.  It clearly states once posted its final.
I follow the thread of where do we draw the line on enforcing rules. The first "mistake" is obvious.  He didn't even own the player.... but the second mistake is subjective because his valuing of a player can differ from everybody else's. If you suddenly see a backlash then you obviously revalue that players worth.   Jason we post a list so everybody else sees what is available in the draft and it locks the rosters ( I think it was a Tugger rule).
the system works just fine.  Ultimately we are only discussing this because somebody made a choice others were shocked at.  He did it let him live with it.......we don't need to question our rules or why we have them... because up until now NOBODY has questioned this one  before.

Im not trying to be a hard ass here but we all agreed to THE RULES.  So just follow them, makes things simple
